Cat & Dog Exams in Boca Raton, FL

As your pet’s primary caregiver, you are responsible for a lot. Yet, some of the most important things can't be done on your own. For comprehensive cat and dog exams and wellness care, you have to bring them to us! At our animal hospital in Boca Raton, we can help you address a wide range of issues including behavior, nutrition, life stage care, pest prevention, and more!

Taking On Long-Term Wellness Care Together

Wellness care at 441 Animal Hospital means a constant flow of communication between you and us. You know your pet best of all, so we rely on you to tell us about any changes in their behavior or physical health that you’ve noticed at home. Additionally, your pet’s health for the long term depends on regular veterinary visits. We highly recommend annual cat and dog exams, and as your pet ages, semi-annual exams may become the norm. Since pets age at a different rate than us, one year’s time is more like four or five years to a cat or dog! A lot can change in that time, so be sure to make pet wellness care a consistent part of your pet’s life.

What Our Cat & Dog Exams Cover

During your pet’s annual or semi-annual checkup, we’ll assess their overall health and may talk to you about any ongoing treatments, too. At a wellness exam, you can expect:

  • Full physical exam that checks pets’ ears, eyes, and mouth
  • Fecal exam to check for internal parasites
  • Vaccinations, if needed
  • Blood work, if due for routine screenings
  • Pest preventatives; these are extremely important as fleas, ticks, and heartworms (transmitted by mosquitoes) can all be very damaging to your pet’s health
  • Time to answer any questions or concerns you have

Caring for Pets Through Every Life Stage

Your pet’s needs change as they age, and our pet wellness care shifts with them. From puppies and kittens to pets in their golden years, we know the best ways to meet their needs.

Puppies and Kittens

If you’ve just welcomed a new pet into your family, congratulations! A new puppy or kitten can bring a whole lot of joy to your life. Yet, in order to help them grow up strong and healthy, they need a lot of TLC. We recommend you bring them to see us as soon as possible so we can:

  • Give them a full physical
  • Perform a fecal exam
  • Administer deworming treatments
  • Start them on a vaccination schedule

Puppies and kittens are at a vulnerable stage so they need some extra attention and care from both you and us.

Adult Pets

Pets are usually at their healthiest and most active stage as adults. Yet, even when they seem perfectly healthy, they still need to come see us! Underlying conditions and diseases can be present without any symptoms until they are much more advanced. Bring your pet in regularly for pet wellness care so we can catch problems early and help keep them healthy throughout their adult years.

Senior Pets

For your older pets, a variety of changes can occur. Senior pets often require an adjustment to their diet due to lessened activity levels and changes in their metabolism. Many of them also develop degenerative conditions such as arthritis, joint disease, as well as loss of hearing, sight, and mental acuity. To help pets age gracefully, we recommend semi-annual exams and geriatric blood screening. Disease can affect older cats and dogs more severely, so the sooner we catch any issues, the better chance your pet has at making a quick, full recovery.

We drive over 30 minutes to see Dr. Andy because we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else! We've had our dog for 10 years and Dr. Andy has always been kind, friendly and thorough with each visit. He's happy to answer all of our questions and most of all our dog is getting the best care. Dr. Andy Levy is the best!

I have been going to Dr. Levy for 17 years. I trust him with all my precious felines and canines. He has been there twice for me when I had to say good-bye to members of my family - most recently yesterday. Both times, he assured me that I was making the right and kind decision. My grief is profound and painful right now, but Dr. Levy's kind words and loving hugs are helping me get through this.

I am very happy with Dr. Levy and all of his staff. The office is immaculate- clean and comfortable. Parking is easy! Dr. Levy is always very patient and happy to answer any questions I might have. Dr. Levy is quick to respond to emergency calls and he has helped me make important decisions regarding my animals.

I have been seeing Dr Levy with my doggies for more than 15 years. Both he and his staff have always been available in good times and bad. Although I have moved a little further away I will still continue to be loyal to his practice as the mommy of his patients

The office was clean and the staff was friendly. Dr. Levy was very direct with what our dog needed and we were out within 20 minutes-- on a Saturday! Our previous vet visits would have been at least 2 hours, several estimates, and suggestions for tests, etc.-- way more than needed. Very happy with this visit!!!
